'Conflict' is a word that can have varying degrees of severity,
meaning, and implication for each individual or circumstance.
For example, the conflict that is experienced in our current,
daily lives seems insignificant in comparison to the Samurai, or
those in war, who faced death on a regular basis. However, it is
still important to extrapolate the significant lessons that have
been derived from such severe scenarios, as these notions ...

The Scholarly Beginnings of Western Buddhism
HOW BUDDHISM CAME TO THE WEST

And it was through the efforts of Western scholars, not Buddhist missionaries, that the seeds were sown for the growth of Buddhism in the West.
The earliest knowledge of Buddhism came to the West in ...

My dog Pepper is a medium of sorts. He sees spirits, angels, and
other beings I can't see. This came in handy recently.
One of my dogs, Bits, died a few days after my birthday this
year. She had a heart condition and began to show signs of
worsening one day. The vet decided to try her on a medication
and see if she would rally. Two days later, it was clear she was
getting worse and her behavior indicated that the end might be
near. One thing she was doing was staring at the wall, near ...
